Parsley Hay full day ride - Sheen and Wetton, 34km
An undulating (hilly) ride with great views. It follows quiet (hilly) lanes before joining the Manifold Way, a recreational route which is mainly car-free. There is then a steep climb up to Wetton and beyond before gentle off-road tracks bypass Hartington to finish on the Tissington Trail. This is a lovely introduction to off-road riding but did I mention it is hilly? It is suited to those with a good level of fitness or those on e-bikes.
We will meet at Parsley Hay with its bike shop, cafe and toilets. Bike hire can be arranged beforehand, if necessary.
We will start with a quick 'M check' of our bikes and a chat about riding techniques, including gears, braking and riding position. After chatting through the route, we will set off.
Fitness Level 3/3
Overall Challenge 3/3
On the route we can talk about how to plan your own cycling adventures, looking at navigation, equipment, rights of way, safety and more.
You must have a good level of fitness (or an e-bike) and be used to riding a bike.
