On this evening we'll skirt the edge of an ancient ruin which is spectacular at night. Looking at its silhouette framed against the backdrop of a dark, night sky or a magical full moon is simply jaw-dropping.
We'll travel on into atmospheric woods and to the site of a disused observatory right in the heart of a forest. Finally we'll hop out at the top of the hill where the views are stunning and a great vantage point to view the celestial heavens above.
You'l find out a little more about the universe, moon, meteors and stars. And we'll show you how to ‘fine tune’ your senses so your 'WOW' factor will be ramped up and your experience, heightened. But regardless of whether we see the stars or not, walking at night is an incredibly powerful way of reconnecting you to nature.
And those worries you had earlier? Perhaps you'll have forgotten them for a while.

The whole evening will last roughly 3 hours. The walk length is about 4.5 miles.
We'll start at Byland Abbey and wind our way into the forest and to the top of the hill, where the views are stunning. When we return feel free to warm yourself in the gorgeous Byland Inn.
Although we'll be mainly on footpaths, there are steep hills, rough ground and mud on these routes too. Mud is unavoidable at this time of the year I'm afraid, but we are in a natural environment!
Obviously we cannot guarantee the weather. Nevertheless, your safety and enjoyment is of utmost importance to us. During or after extreme weather conditions, we reserve the right to change the route, postpone or cancel the event.
