Poole's Cavern is a family friendly, all weather, accessible experience. Book a tour and be taken through this ancient natural limestone cavern which can be found on the outskirts of the historic Spa town of Buxton in the High Peak of Derbyshire.
Expert guides will take you on a journey beneath the earth where you can marvel at the beautifully illuminated rock sculpted galleries. Explore the vast limestone caverns and see how crystal Stalactites and Stalagmites have lined the chambers over millions of years.

Tours begin every 30 minutes and leave from the visitor centre exhibition area
The Cavern tour is approximately 45 minutes underground
The temperature underground is a constant 7° centigrade, 44 Fahrenheit
There are 28 steps in the Cavern no more than 10 in one place
Pushchairs and child buggies are permitted in the cave, note there are 28 steps and some narrow areas
Blue Light/NHS please select Concession Ticket and produce valid card on arrival
There are just two low points. One located at the entrance and one located by the first set of steps. Both low points are clearly marked with 'Mind Your Head' signs
Dogs are welcome in the Country Park, visitor centre and cafe - but are not allowed on the Cavern tour, except assistance dogs.
Enjoy take away snacks, tea and coffee from our café, with outside picnic tables available
Then enjoy a walk around the country park woodland with trails up to Solomon’s Temple viewpoint
