The Roaches Climbing Weekend is exactly that, a fun packed weekend of different climbing routes and abilities located at ‘The Roaches’. If you haven’t been, you’ll be coming back for seconds and thirds after your first taste! It’s a prominent rocky ridge above Leek and Tittesworth Reservoir in the Peak District. The ridge with its rock formations rises steeply to 505m. Known affectionately to locals as ‘The Winking Man’ due to an unusual phenomenon that makes a particular rock formation appear to ‘wink’ when driving past, it’s a local landmark and one that is popular with free runners, hikers, and most importantly, climbers.
This adventure is suitable for experienced beginners and intermediate climbers. You’ll need a good base level of fitness and flexibility to navigate these rocks for two days.
