Adventure Highlights

Learn a range of skills to be confident in nature with an emphasis on shelter, warmth, fire, and food. The course is delivered in the beautiful settings of Parndon Wood Nature Reserve, one of the finest woodland and parks in the country. No experience necessary so beginners are absolutely welcome. All equipment and meals provided, so all you have to do is turn up and have fun! Just a short trip from London / surrounding areas, you'll immediately feel like you're much more remote and detached from it all.

Adventure Details

Day 1

Start time 10:00

Meet the team and do introductions. We'll cover off the agenda of the day before getting stuck into the many activities, covering:

  • Survival skills
  • Making shelters using both man-made and natural materials
  • Discovering various methods of fire-making
  • Management of fire
  • Cooking over a fire
  • Working with wood and string
  • Learning about many useful trees and plants around us
  • An introduction to navigation and tracking

Share a delicious meal cooked over the fire and discover the lore of camp craft, from knot tying to fire lighting with feather sticks. Get fully immersed in nature in this one day experience.

What you'll need to bring

  • Warm Clothing Depending on the weather you may need a warm jacket. Something cotton is fine but avoid easily burnt synthetic layers.
  • Waterproofs Though our fire-site is covered a rain jacket is useful for when we take walks.
  • Camping Equipment If you have a piece of bushcraft equipment you would like to learn how to use properly (like a knife or axe) feel free to bring it along to use.

Custom Policy

  • Cancel before 31 days of your adventure and receive a 75% refund (minus payment processing fees).
  • Cancel within 30 days of the adventure with no refund.
  • Alternate dates may be able to be agreed at no additional cost, but this is not guaranteed.
