You’ll be met by your guide at Ft William Railway Station at 10:30 on the first day of your adventure. After getting aquainted with your gear, we’ll start the journey near Neptune’s Staircase on the Caledonian Canal, this will ease you into the the day and we’ll make our way to Gairlochy. Here there are several lock gates that we’ll navigate. At the start of Loch Lochy is where we’ll set up our first camp, where you’ll enjoy views of Ben Nevis and a good nights rest.
Your second day will start on Loch Lochy again and the end of the day goal is to reach the end! And if the wind is with us we might reach Loch Oich. Our campsite tonight is on the shore of Laggan Locks.
Crossing Loch Oich we’ll jump back on the canal for the day, carrying on a few miles up to Fort Augustus. Many canal locks will need to be navigated but this adds to the character of the journey! At the end of the day, we’ll reach Loch Ness where our camp will be for the night.
We’ll travel on the almighty Loch Ness today, hopefully, with a favorable wind that will help the team! You’ll pass Urquhart Castle into the bay at the end of the day and the shore will be our camp.
On our last day we’ll set out to Loch Ness for the last time, you’ll paddle until the end of the loch is in sight. The endpoint of the beautiful Great Glean is where the River Ness makes its’ way to the sea. After sorting out all of the kit you’ll be transferred to Ft William for around 1730.
You’ll be working up a sweat. Bring along a touch of enthusiasm and a little determination
We'll provide your tents for the awesome wild-camping!
