Sunday May 5th - Steam Event Day, Bluebells and Teddy Bear Competition

  • Location Sittingbourne
  • Price from £15.00

Highlights

Sunday May 5th
10am – 4.30pm
The first Steam Event Day of the year sees the Steam Locos in action, pulling passenger carriages in traditional style through the parkland and woodland full of Bluebells at the Bredgar Railway. It's that one time of year we see an incredible spread of wild Bluebells through the woodland and alongside the track. It's a beautiful location with a number of attractions including unlimited rides on the passenger steam trains from Warren Wood station through to Stony Shaw and back again. The Engine Shed and museum will be open displaying the collection of vintage tractors, locos, engines and cars as well as the hugely popular, extensive model railway. The main field showcases the visiting exhibitor engines, the resident American 105ft Aerial Ladder Fire truck (scale the ladder if you dare!) as well as tractor and trailer rides.

For the kids:
\\ The Best Dressed Teddy Competition! Bring your favourite Teddy from home and dress them with as much imagination as you can. Enter the competition by being outside the Tea Room at 1.30pm with your Teddy when the judging takes place. All entrants will receive a small prize, the winners will be awarded with a prize.
\\
A Teddy Bear hunt for the children with a prize for those who (mostly) complete it.
\\ Tractor trailer rides
\\
NEW! Garden Games!
\\ Colouring station.
Why not complete your visit with a stop at our renowned Station Tea Room for a 'proper' coffee and some fabulous cake? Alternatively grab something hot from the BBQ and set out your picnic blanket for a fantastic day out.

Please note the Yew Tree Farm School is NOT OPEN on this day as they now operate exclusively as a school. Many thanks.
