Adventure Highlights

Led by an experienced Mountain Leader and with a friendly group of people, we’ll walk to the top of Ben Nevis at night along the famous Pony Path, where ponies used to carry supplies to the (now derelict) weather observatory on the summit. We definitely recommend a hot drink to enjoy on the top, before we return back down. Take stargazing to the next level! Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK, rising 1345 metres above the Atlantic, and surrounded by hundreds of other mountains. Walking to the summit is a bucket-list day for a lot of people, and not just regular hillwalkers – as the highest mountain in the land is has an obvious attraction to those who want to set themselves a challenge. But if you really want an experience with a difference then why not aim to summit Ben Nevis in the middle of the night? There’s simply no better place to watch the stars and the Milky Way overhead, or perhaps have our way lit by the light of the moon. The vast landscape around you is transformed by the dark to a mysterious place where the shapes of mountains tower against the sky and the lights of far-away villages twinkle in the valleys. And yes of course, the summit may be covered in cloud, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have a view all the way up and down, and even in the mist the art of night-walking is an exciting and memorable experience.
