Climb the limestone crags of the Swanage Coast. A Weekend of Rock Climbing in a beautiful setting.
Duration: Two days, one night
Being only a short journey from London, Dorset is one of the finest and closest climbing destinations to the south east. The Limestone cliffs of the Swanage coast stretch for some 3 miles and offer a bewildering array of climbing routes. Coastal scenery and routes are spectacular and with some of the driest and warmest climates in the UK, Dorset is one of the most consistent year round climbing venues. All routes are bolted with good stainless resin anchors and lower off points, making climbing safe and enjoyable. Whether you are a seasoned high climbing professional, a self-taught enthusiast or a complete beginner, Dorset has plenty to get your teeth into.
Day 1From our base in Swanage we will find our feet at Dancing Ledge, which offers a variety of routes from small safe climbs, to some formidable and more challenging sea cliff climbs. Think spectacular scenery, craggy rocks and crashing waves alongside some exhilarating climbing.
The highly qualified and experienced instructors will deliver the course in a relaxed fashion giving you the skills to climb the limestone edges safely and confidently. The skills taught during this course are:
Use of correct equipment
A picnic lunch will be served near the rock face on Saturday followed by a evening barbecue at the campsite on Saturday night.
Day 2We will continue with the client-specific coaching on Sunday addressing any needs or wants that you have.
Sunday's venue will be chosen the day before considering weather and client needs to ensure everyone gets the best possible experience. If the venue and weather suits after our morning session we will enjoy a pastie and a pint at the famous Square and Compass pub in Worth Matravers after a bracing walk along the stunning coastal path.
