Adventure Highlights

Visit our unique 15th century farmstead, home to one of the worlds finest collections of flown owls and hawks, and a small horse riding establishment, within Exmoor National Park. On your adventure you will fly a wide variety of up to eight owls and hawks to your gloved hands, learn about their natural behaviour in the wild, how they would catch their prey, and their interdependence on other species and their environment for their survival. All set in the magnificent setting of Exmoor surrounded by woods, hills and the sea, close to Porlock, Minehead and the Southwest Coast Path. Your experience will finish with light refreshments of tea/coffee and cake or cream tea.

Adventure Details

Day 1

Start time 10:00

Arrive and meet at the 'Reception' at the front door of our historic 15th century farmhouse, West Lynch Farm. Here you will be met by Cathy or Rod, when you will be shown into our spectacular Owl Garden and Wildlife Area where you can relax and explore our magnificent collection of owls. Rod will then chat and tell you a little about the owls and the Centre, and take you into the Owl Barn or Flying Field, where you will meet and fly some of our specially trained owls and hawks which will willing fly free to your gloved hand.
Throughout the adventure there will be ample opportunity for taking your own photos or each other, and Rod will also take photos and video of your experience which he will share with you via Instagram or WhatsApp
Finally at the finish of your adventure experience with our birds, you will be able to enjoy a cream tea or tea and cake in our beautiful garden or in the comfort and warmth of our 15th Century 'open-hall' manor house on a cool Autumn or Spring day.

Comfort Accommodation

Bed & Breakfast is available in our homely historic 15th century farmhouse. Please ask at the time of booking. The rooms are quiet, comfortable and spacious providing a place of relaxation and restoration, while at night-time the only sounds are those of the local and resident owls, beneath a starlit sky in this Dark Sky Reserve.
