Fancy a trip to the natural wonder of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula in December 2020? The place has lots to offer from hikes in the rain forest and extraordinary wildlife to kayaking with dolphins and turtles and snorkelling with colourful of sea life.
Small group travel to enjoy the delights of the sea and the rain forest. We will be staying in waterside loges in the forest, kayaking, snorkelling, relaxing in hammocks and enjoying home cooked food. Our group will be guided by a UK qualified kayak guide and a local guide so you will be very well looked after and won't miss on those things that only locals know.
We will be kayaking between 10 and 15kms a day, so the trip is accessible for everyone. We will combine kayaking with plenty of swimming and relaxing breaks. This is a fantastic opportunity to spot sea life such as turtles, whales and dolphins. On land there are sloths, macaws, monkeys of several types, colourful frogs and many other beautiful creatures. This trip combines land and sea so we can experience some of the best that Costa Rica has to offer.
The lodges we have chosen are simple but comfortable - they have real beds so we can have a good night sleep after the paddling. The owners will be cooking all our meals with local produce and we will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Costa Rican food. Most of the lodges have paths into the rain forest that we can explore before dinner and discover some of the wildlife of the place. At night, the forest will come alive with its sounds.
For those that wish to extend their trip with further activities, we have coordinated with a local company that offers the following:
5-Day Hiking Corcovado National Park: This includes private transportation to/from Puerto Jimenez, 2 nights at La Leona Ecolodge with breakfast and dinner, 2 nights at Sirena Ranger Station with breakfast and dinner, 3 days Corcovado licensed naturalist guide, and 3-day admission pass to Corcovado National Park.
4-Day Arenal Volcano Trip. This includes private transportation to/from San Jose, 3 nights at Campo Verde Hotel with breakfast, coffee plantation tour, hanging bridges tour, volcano hiking tour, La Fortuna waterfall tour, and hot springs with dinner. Alternative tours: canyoning, white water rafting, safari float, caving, horseback riding.
3-Day Pacuare White Water Rafting Trip: This includes transportation to/from San Jose, 2 nights at a rainforest lodge on the Pacuare River including 3 meals daily (except for dinner on last day), professional guide services, and rafting equipment.
