Parsley Hay Half Day Ride - High Peak and Tissington Trails, 20km
A lovely, gentle introduction to off-road riding. The route mostly follows the disused railways but takes in easy tracks to join the Tissington and High Peak Trails. Linking the trails involves some easy climbs and descents.
We will meet at Parsley Hay with its bike shop, cafe and toilets. Bike hire can be arranged beforehand, if necessary.
We will start with a quick 'M check' of our bikes and a chat about riding techniques, including gears, braking and riding position. After chatting through the route, we will set off. The route follows the Tissington Trail for a short while before following easy tracks from Biggin to join the High Peak Trail at Minninglow Hill. The off-road sections are fairly gentle, easy going and provide some variety to riding on the disused railways. It is straightforward to cut this route short or to extend it.
