An easy introduction to maps for novices in the beautiful Peak District. The course is ideal for those wishing to enjoy learning about basic map skills in an informal environment and without an assessment. Run by experienced National Navigation Scheme tutors, Rachel Bolton and Richard Tower from Peak Walking Adventures, it's a relaxed, fun day where participants learn together and discover how to plan a route as they walk.

    What you'll need

  • Warm Clothing Walking boots. Waterproof rucksack with comfortable outdoor clothing including spare fleece or jumper, medium sized rucksack with waterproof liner, hat and gloves.
  • Waterproofs Waterproof jacket and trousers.
  • Food Packed lunch and lots of snacks.
  • Drink Plenty of water - at least 2 litres.
  • Other Map(s), waterproof map case, compass, watch - we'll specify in more detail when you book
