  • Location Axminster
  • Price from £65.00

Highlights

The perfect experience for any alpaca fan, where you can really get to know each alpaca and find out what it is like to care for these amazing animals!
We run this experience weekly on a Friday.

We will immerse you in our world of alpacas through a variety of fun and hands-on activities!

Timing: 9.30am - 1.30pm

The Full Alpaca Experience:
  • On arrival we welcome you to Little Orchard Alpacas with a hot drink to get ready for your busy morning!
  • Then we get into the fun, starting with an introduction to each group of alpacas whilst we carry out some of the daily alpaca husbandry tasks.
  • These include: feeding, checking water & hay and general herd checks, plus any special jobs of the day!
  • You will get lots of time to spend time up close with our whole herd and to get used to being around the alpacas.
  • Then you will learn how to handle and halter our lovely alpacas, before we take them for a relaxing alpaca walk around the field and apple orchard.
  • Then we break for some drinks and homemade cake which you can enjoy in our undercover area, or alongside the alpaca paddock in our picnic spot.
  • To give you the chance to feel and learn about alpaca fibre we will spend some time doing an easy alpaca crafty session (suitable for everyone!), to make a souvenir to take home with you. (All materials are included).
  • At the end you are welcome to have a browse in our on-site alpaca shop.
  • If you would like to bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy at the end of your experience we welcome you to stay a little longer in one of our picnic areas.
