This is the perfect hands on day out or gift for any alpaca lover, where you can really get to know each alpaca in our herd and find out what it is like to look after these amazing animals. We guarantee fun, learning and plenty of alpaca antics!
We run our Alpaca Keeper Days to demand - the booking calendar shows dates where we have spaces remaining but we can run new Alpaca Keeper Days both on weekdays or weekends. Please send an enquiry if you have a date or two in mind to book.
Arrive and start the day with a drink and a welcome to the farm.
Then an introduction to each herd group and individual alpacas whilst we carry out some of the daily alpaca husbandry tasks, including: feeding, checking water & hay and herd checks.
Followed by alpaca care tasks of the day, this could be anything from weighing and condition checks, giving vitamins, pregnancy checks or many other things, it all depends on the season and what needs doing!
Lunch Break - We provide a delicious light lunch.
After lunch we will take a leisurely Alpaca Walk to spend more time with our boys. This is also a great chance to help with some halter training for any youngsters in training.
Late Afternoon - Craft and Cake!
At the end of the day we will enjoy some relaxing time with an easy alpaca fibre craft, with drinks and cake.
Full Day Alpaca Keeper experience (9.30am - 3pm): £125 per person, with a minimum of two people attending to run the day. Maximum group size of six people.
Our Alpaca Keeper days are also ideal for those considering keeping alpacas and would like a fun introduction to them, before embarking on a full husbandry course. We also have an Introduction to Alpaca Keeping course for those would like the day tailored to learning alpaca care.
Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements or allergies.
If booking three people or more together we offer 10% off the price.
This experience day is aimed at adults, however we can run an Alpaca Keeper Day for ages 14+ with a minimum of one adult also attending.
