Twilight canal cruise to Widbrook Wood in the company of a bat expert who will help you to learn about the sorts of bats we might see and offer tuition in how to use a bat detector. As darkness descends, you will be able to put your bat detecting skills into practice, and both see and hear some of these curious little creatures. This very popular event includes a donation to the Wiltshire Bat Group. 

The Barbara McLellan is a 65ft wide-beam boat operating from Bradford on Avon Wharf Cottage, by the lock, BA15 1LE. There is a licensed bar on board serving a wide variety of hot & cold drinks and bar snacks. You are welcome to bring your own snacks or "supper" but please buy our drinks! We accept and encourage card payments. There is a small toilet on board.
Please note: this event means walking along the towpath plus disembarking and reboarding after dark. It is suited to those who have a reasonable level of fitness.  Please wear strong footwear, warm clothes and bring a head torch. Participants undertake this activity at their own risk.
