This unique and memorable two hour Alpaca Experience is the perfect chance to get to know these amazing and characterful animals. The experience includes over an hour of alpaca walking, leading the alpacas through the field and an idyllic Devon orchard; plus time up close with the whole herd and other animals, followed by drinks alongside the alpaca paddock, or in our cosy barn style undercover seating.

The Walk:

• After a welcome to the farm, an introduction to the alpacas and some alpaca walking tips, you will team up with your own individual alpaca companion and we will take a wander around the field and our orchard trail. The alpacas enjoy their walks and we take it at 'alpaca pace' meaning the perfect chance to slow down, enjoy the great outdoors and the natural company of these wonderful animals. 
• We will chat about all things ‘alpaca’ as we go and you will learn all about our herd, how we care for them and your alpaca too!

Meet the herd:

• We will then introduce you to our different groups of alpacas, including the girls and any young alpacas, all with their different personalities and stories. Whilst in the alpaca paddocks you will have the opportunity to get up close with the alpacas, take photos surrounded by the alpacas and feed them their favourite treats! 
•  A visit would also not be complete without saying hello to Peggy and Wilbur, our resident pot-bellied pigs!

Relax:

• After the walk and tour we invite you to enjoy a hot or cold drink (included in the price) alongside the alpaca paddock if the weather is nice, we also have inside and undercover seating. 
• There is also the option to upgrade to a Cream Tea or we can arrange other catering for groups and parties. 
• You are also welcome to wander back around the paddocks during this time, for some final photos and to say goodbye to your walking companion!

Shop:
At the end of the experience we will open up our Alpaca Room Gift Shop, which is packed full of alpaca goodies, yarn & gifts to browse. A chance to take away a little souvenir from your visit to us at Little Orchard Alpacas.

Babies in carriers or slings are free of charge however you will not be able to walk an alpaca whilst carrying an infant. You can choose the Observer/Drinks Only option to walk along with an infant in a carrier if there are more than six people booked in.  

Please note: we don't allow toddlers under 5 years old on this experience, even with the Observer option. We can however book a Private Meet the Alpacas Tour instead for your. Please send us an enquiry. 

Important Information:

• This is a two hour experience, however we say to allow two and a half hours as time flies when you are having fun and we may run over, this also gives plenty of time to enjoy your drinks at the end!
• This is a gentle walk at 'alpaca pace', (although they can pick up speed when they fancy!).
• It is a relaxing and fun experience with the focus on quality time, where you can really see each alpaca's personality, rather than a trek!
• This experience is suitable for ages 5 and upwards only. This experience isn’t suitable for young toddlers or for prams or pushchairs.
• If you would like to book a bespoke private walk for a group you can also send us an enquiry with the number of people and your availability and we can look at alternative dates.

Catering Options:

Our Cream Tea includes two scones, two types of jam, clotted cream, Devonshire Tea, Coffee and a soft cold drink of choice. 

We can also provide delicious sharing boxes for lunch or afternoon tea. Prices vary depending on requirements for this.
