The British period instrument orchestra Fiori Musicali are one of the main providers of classical and early music concerts outside London. Founded by director Dr Penelope Rapson, Fiori have earned a reputation for bringing first class music to thousands of music lovers annually across the region and showcasing some of today’s finest professional baroque specialists. Fiori appear in many formats – as a chamber ensemble, as a choir and as a nationally recognised orchestra – always capturing something of how the music first sounded, in concerts from the late renaissance to the early romantic and beyond. Fiori have a number of acclaimed CDs, including first performances in modern times of music hidden away in archives for centuries. Their new Tallis CD was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 on Boxing Day and received high praise from Jeremy Summerly on BBC Radio 3’s Record Review.
