Visiting the Peak District but fancy a day exploring the Lake District? This could be the perfect tour for you.
This tour was designed after we received several requests from customers who were based in the Peak District but wanted to visit the Lake District as well. We've always loved exploring the Lakes, so how could we refuse? The bespoke tours were so successful that we've decided to add this to our tour options. The private tour for up to 4 passengers includes pick up and drop off in the Peak District area (including Manchester or Sheffield) and includes a full day adventure in the beautiful Lake District, offering a wonderful contrast between 2 of the UK's most popular National Parks.
This tour visits some of the most spectacular scenery in the Lake District, with little or no walking required. Enjoy the views over Windermere, Wast Water, Loweswater, Buttermere and Derwent Water. Along the way we will navigate 3 famous mountain passes, all of them spectacular in their own right; Wrynose, Hardknott and Honister. We'll also take in beauty spots such as Ashness Bridge, Surprise View and Castlerigg Stone Circle. The tour begins with pick up from your accommodation or a suitable railway station. The price includes pick up in or around the Peak District, Manchester or Sheffield areas, but other options can be set up by prior arrangement (Email us for details). We will arrive in the Lake District at around 10am (times can be adjusted to make best use of daylight) and the tour will include:
Ambleside, with views across Windermere
Wrynose Pass
Hardknott Pass
Wast Water, England's deepest lake with views of England's highest mountain - Scafell Pike
Optional lunch stop in Ennerdale Bridge
Loweswater
Buttermere
Honister Pass

Derwent Water
Ashness Bridge

We will leave the Lake District at around 7pm for the journey back.
