Adventure Highlights

Learn the skills you need to enjoy true freedom in the hills. Navigation skills form the foundation of all journeys into the wild and open the door to immersion in nature. Learn how to use a map and compass and gain the confidence to navigate even in poor visibility so that you can enjoy the freedom of being in the hills. Learn the skills you need to explore and experience wild and beautiful places in safety and confidence. Two days of walking and practical navigation in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. We can cover about 15km each day (though this trip is not purely about covering distance) and wild camp out on the hill on Saturday night. You will carry all your kit with you, including your camping equipment so your pack will weigh between 10-14kg depending on what you decide to bring.

This adventure is perfect for individuals and small groups, and can be tailored for:

Adventure Details

Day 1

Start time 10:30

Our first job is to decide what kit you will be taking with you. You will be able to pick your guide's brain as to what they bring and how much you can live without for the next two days. We then help you to pack and adjust your bag. Once everyone is happy with their kit we jump into our land rover and drive to the start of the walk.
Once we leave the car we will, hopefully, not be returning to it until the afternoon the following day. The duration of our intended journey will depend on abilities within the group. The aim is to wear you out physically and mentally but to avoid a deathly trudge. We'll take on some hills and explore areas you wouldn't dream of walking normally. We will never take the boring option.
Another skill we will develop is choosing a wild camping spot. Of course, we know some great places and will be taking you to a corker for the evening but we will show you how to identify the perfect wild camping spot in future.
Once we have reached the campsite we will pitch up and get dinner on the go. We can then either flake out for the evening or do an extra bit of navigation if the mood takes us.

Day 2

The next morning it's breakfast with a view, and a brew. We build on the learning from the day before with a hike in the morning and (hopefully) find our way back to the landy in the afternoon. After which we'll sort the kit an get to safely onto a train or back to your car.
