Essex's original sunflower field! Ralph, Rob and Jo and the team have been running this pop-up PYO sunflower and wildflower field for over 20 years in the Essex countryside, as part of our family farm. We are working farmers and a very small business - we appreciate you looking at the FAQ page for information before reaching out to us.

Booking Policy

• Ticket time is entry time only, you are welcome to stay until closing.
• Tickets are valid for the date and time stated. Exchanges may be made up to 48 hours before your visit using the Manage My Booking feature on your confirmation email 
• A bit of rain won't stop us! Tickets will only be refunded if the event is cancelled by the organiser. Writtle Sunflowers reserves the right to cancel a planned open day due to extreme weather and safety concerns. All ticket holders will be contacted by email in this instance. 
• Flowers are planted in staggered groups, ensuring that the entire field doesn't bloom simultaneously and we have fresh flowers to pick. We therefore do not have a whole field in bloom at one time. Writtle Sunflowers cannot guarantee the number or condition of any flowers at any one time, or availability for picking. Flowers are likely to be few between 20th and 24th July due to the cooler weather we have been experiencing. 
• All members of your party over the aged 2 and over must have a valid ticket 
• All under-16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult and be supervised at all times. 
• No alcohol, cigarettes, e-cigarettes or BBQs to be brought onto the field or car park. 
• Visitors are reminded that we are a working farm and operate in a field. The ground can be uneven, wear suitable footwear for weather conditions 
• Dogs are welcome to all but Sundowners events but must be kept on leads at all times and mess taken home with you. 
• Writtle Sunflowers accepts no responsibility for personal injury or damage to belongings during your visit 
• Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk, and all belongings brought onto the farm by visitors are at their own risk 
• Entry ticket does not include flowers - PYO flowers are available at an additional charge of £5 a bunch - cash or card accepted. 
• Photography and filming disclaimer: Photography and filming may take place in the field. These may be used by Writtle Sunflowers for promotional purposes in our publications, on our website, across social media platforms, or by third parties. Your entry onto the event premises constitutes a waiver of any rights to compensation or royalties for image use, unless you opt out at the entrance desk on arrival.
