WELCOME ABOARD THE SOUTHERN COMFORT Join our crew for a memorable river experience The Southern Comfort is a double-deck paddle boat purpose built for the Broads with a capacity of 100 passengers for public trips or private hire. Our boat is a luxury river cruiser which runs regular trips from the beautiful village of Horning, along the River Bure through the village and out to Ranworth Broad and back, passing lovely old thatched houses, windmills and Norfolk reed beds. Throughout the trip there is excellent commentary and continual pointing out of all the water birds around at the time. There is the ever present bustle of river traffic with cruisers, yachts and the occasional wherry.

Booking Policy

Bookings on Public River Trips
Bookings are made between Mississippi Riverboats Horning Limited, the company, and the customer. The booking entitles the customer to join a public sailing on the Southern Comfort, the vessel. 

The vessel has outside and inside seating on both the upper and lower decks, seating is selected by the customer at boarding, we are unable to allocate seating at booking.

Boarding begins 15 minutes before departure. 

Please be advised the on board bar is cash only.

The skipper may refuse to allow any passenger on board, where their behaviour may be deemed as offensive or dangerous to other passengers, crew or the vessel. 

Accessibility
We strive to ensure we provide accessible public sailings, access to the vessel is via a ramp, there are steps with a hand rail either side to the upper deck. 

Wheelchair Users 
We have the capacity for 5 manual wheelchairs on each sailing, please ensure when making your online booking you select the wheelchair ticket option as well as your boarding ticket option. The lower deck is wheelchair accessible. The onboard toilets are located on the lower deck however they do not accommodate a wheelchair inside. 

Dogs
We have a limit of 5 dogs per sailing.  We are unable to accept dogs on sailings which are longer than 2 hours. If you wish to bring your dog onboard please purchase a dog ticket when making your online booking. Dogs must remain on their lead, on the floor, and under control. Please be advised if it is necessary, you may be asked to relocate to a different area of the boat with your dog once onboard. It is ultimately the skippers decision at boarding if a dog can come onboard.
