Booking Policy

VDubIt Booking Terms
The following represents the terms of contract when hiring out one of our vehicles:
Vehicle Care • As our vans are of a classic nature, we respectfully ask that the vehicles are driven on tarmac roads and designated campsites. To avoid any unnecessary headaches, we suggest avoiding narrow off-road routes, driving on beaches and taking the van through water (salt and sand are not a vans best friend). Trust us, you don’t want to get stuck and reverse one of our vans down Cornish lanes. • We know you’re excited to be on holiday, but to avoid any embarrassment or potential damage to the vehicle always securely close the rooftop before driving off. • The van’s max height is clearly stated on the driver’s visor, so please familiarise yourself with this information before driving under any low arches! • Our campervans are big classic beauties that should be treated as such. To make the most of your holiday please remember to drive responsibly, keeping to the speed limits and don’t exceed the vehicle’s maximum driving speed. To make sure you don’t wake up at the bottom of the hill you parked on, we advise making sure the handbrake is fully engaged. • It’s good to remember that our vans mean going back to basics where mechanics are concerned; we ask that you don’t leave the ignition on without starting the engine as this could damage the vehicle’s ignition system. • The van’s sole purpose is to be a home on wheels for you, not to tow other vehicles or trailers.
Booking deposit • When you’re ready to make a booking, we require a £150 booking deposit to secure your dates for you. The balance of the total hire package is due 14 days before the actual hire takes place. • Booking deposits can be made via debit/credit card. Unfortunately, we don’t accept any cash payments as booking deposits.
Security deposit • It’s not that we don’t trust you, but to be on the safe side we require a £250 security deposit when the vehicle is collected on the first day of hire. This can be paid in cash or by card upon arrival. • We’re an honest bunch who like to play fair, so to ensure that you’re comfortable hiring our van we do pre and post-hire vehicle inspections with you. • If any damages/defects or missing items are incurred to the van whilst out on hire, we ask that you please tell us about them upon your return. • We trust you with our van and if you can bring her back in one piece with no damages inside and out, we’ll give you your £250 back. Fair deal, right? • If your security deposit was paid by card/bank transaction, a refund will be issued and paid in full within 3-4 working days. • Should our van be returned with items missing/ damaged, the full £250 deposit will be retained for necessary repairs or replacements. We will notify you in writing if this is the case. VDubIt reserves the right to have all repair work/ replacements carried out by professional mechanics and other professional agencies of our choice.
What do I need to rent a van? • Full UK driver’s licence valid for at least 2 years. • Be between the age of 23 - 75 years if you’re the driver. For full details outlining the information required by VDubIt including the driver's safety record and health etc, please refer to our driver’s questionnaire found on our website www.vdubit.co.uk • As eager as passengers may be to get behind the wheel of a classic VW campervan, unfortunately only those who have completed a driver’s questionnaire and been approved by VDubIt prior to hire can drive the van. • Disclose any previous accidents for insurance purposes • Proof of ID with photo and original driver’s license • 2 proofs of address (e.g. two utility bills not older than three months of the hire.) • If you’re the driver then, naturally we require yours truly to be present upon collection of the van. • Insurance is Fully Comprehensive (Sigh of relief). • Holiday insurance. We cannot emphasize this enough as personal belongings do go missing/get damaged when you travel and you might encounter the occasional injury here and there. We’re not jinxing you, we care and want your experience to be a pleasant one, so our advice is to arrange that independently prior to travelling.
Title to the vehicle The vehicle remains the sole property of VDubIt, please don’t loan them to anyone else.
Pet policy We understand how much of a difference it makes when you can invite your furry friends on holiday. Small to medium-sized dogs are very welcome on your road trip with us. All we ask is that you let us know if your pup causes any damage and you tidy up after him or her!
Smoking policy Just a heads up to let you know that we don’t allow smoking inside the campervan.
Breakdown/Accidents/Incidents Explained on rental.
Fuel/Oil • We provide a full tank of fuel with the vehicle at the start of hire and would appreciate if you could kindly return the favour by fuelling the van up before handing her back. • Vehicles have different fuel types, so please double check you know what fuel your van requires. This information is also found in the VIP. • Please show our van some TLC by doing daily oil, water and tyre checks. We’ll show you how to do this when the van is collected.
Mileage • Unlimited mileage is allowed within the South West i.e. Devon and Cornwall only.
Pick Up / Drop Off • Collection time for the vehicle is from 4pm on the first day of hire, but we’re flexible so give us a ring and we’ll see how we can help if your other travel arrangements • Before you can drive off into the sunset, we need about an hour of your time so we can explain the ins and outs of how the van operates. • Vans are best returned no later than 10am on the last day, due to insurance cover purposes as well as making sure everything is spick and span for the next rental customers. If you encounter unavoidable delays, please contact us to ensure that insurance cover is maintained.
Car Parking • We offer a free car parking facility at our base in Falmouth.
Data protection • VDubIt will only use the personal information supplied by yourself, (the hirer(s)) for the purpose of completing the booking.
