Highlights

Our advanced winter climbing course has been put together for people who want to further their techniques and push their grade in ice and mixed climbing. We usually tackle some of the classic climbs and ridges throughout the Northern Corries & Ben Nevis Some previous winter climbing experience is essential for this course.
Any technical equipment, crampons, ice axes, harness & helmet is included in the price

Effectively planning your days in the mountains, using weather and avalanche forecasts

Avalanche awareness/avoidance and its implications for safe route choice

Advanced techniques of ice and rock protection, torquing & dry tooling

Construction of winter belays, Albolokov threads, belaying in 'guide mode'

Escaping from winter multi-pitch climbs, minimising equipment left behind

Coaching to develop your movement and technique on steep/varied terrain

Day 1

Cairngorms.
We will meet and chat through the course and get people's aspirations for the next few days; we check kit and head out for our first climb, Hidden Chimney being a popular choice.

Day 2

Cairngorms.
Back into the Corie an t-Sneachda to head up Invernookie.

Day 3

Cairngorms.
We can step it up a little today and try Sidewinder or Ewen Buttress in Coriean Lochain.

Day 4

Cairngorms.
If things are progressing well we will head into Corie an t-Sneachda today we can try the classic Fingers Ridge.

Day 5

Cairngorms.
If the past 4 days have been progressing nicely then we can try finish on Deep cut chimney on the last day to top the 5 days off!

    Rucksack 30-40ltr

Custom Policy

  • Cancel before 31 days of your adventure and receive a 75% refund (minus payment processing fees).
  • Cancel within 30 days of the adventure with no refund.
  • Alternate dates may be able to be agreed at no additional cost, but this is not guaranteed.
