Itinerary

Dartmoor National Park is home to some of the UK's best rock climbing. This one day adventure will allow you to experience the highlights of the climbing that Dartmoor has to offer. The day will start with a short walk-in across the famous National Park, taking in the scenery and wildlife. Arrive at your climbing venue and, if you choose to, learn how to set up safety for single-pitch rock climbing, learning how to select and equalise anchors and secure your ropes. Experience single-pitch rock climbing using a top and bottom rope, learning belaying techniques and efficient climbing moves. Choose to stay on easy ground or select new routes to challenge your skill level. After some chill time, enjoying your packed lunch and drinking in the views, it's time to experience a adrenaline inducing abseil. Abseiling is an essential part of more adventurous climbing and you will have the opportunity to learn how to set up a static line abseil. With the protection of an additional safety line, you will then learn how to rappel backwards down a sheer rock face. Finish up with a gentle stroll back to civilisation and, as with all proper climbing days, pop into a near-by Dartmoor cafe for a Devon cream tea.
